Give a mother and child the gift of preschool every month

Mother and child learning together

Preschool is much more than early learning. It is the foundation for literacy, confidence, and a real chance to break generational poverty. When a child learns in their own language and a mother learns beside them, entire families begin to rise.

Yet quality early education is still out of reach for thousands of Indigenous children in rural Guatemala. The good news, a monthly gift of just $20 provides preschool for 2 children and the mothers who learn with them.

The Compass

Join the international community serving children and mothers every month

Your support helps fund locally led preschools in rural Indigenous communities, opening the door to early learning and long-term opportunity. Through our monthly giving community, The Compass, donors help make consistent, lasting impact possible.

Locally Led and Community Rooted

EnLevo preschool classrooms are locally led and deeply rooted in the community. Local teachers who speak Q’eqchi’, the children’s mother tongue, guide mothers and children together through the first steps of literacy, confidence, and learning.

Classes take place in trusted community spaces such as village classrooms, community centers, or local churches, with families actively involved. When mothers and children learn side by side, the impact extends beyond the classroom and strengthens the entire community.

Why The Compass Matters

The Compass keeps this work strong and steady. Monthly gifts allow us to plan ahead and sustain preschool classrooms throughout the year. This ongoing support makes it possible to train and employ local teachers, maintain consistent materials and curriculum, and invest long term in rural Indigenous communities. Monthly giving provides stability for the children, mothers, teachers, and classrooms that depend on it.

Early education changes everything

In many rural Indigenous villages, children arrive to first grade without recognizing a single letter or number, and many have never even held a pencil. Their mothers, who were never taught to read, cannot help them practice or learn. Without early education, children fall behind from the very first day, and the cycle of poverty continues.

We are working to rewrite this story. EnLevo preschools teach both the child and the mother, side by side, in their own language. Your support gives a family its first real pathway to literacy and a brighter future. Children thrive in school. Mothers gain confidence. Families grow stronger. Communities begin to rise. This is the impact of your monthly giving.
